THIS COMING SATURDAY, APRIL 5T:H
Since no one took up the meal deal at the dinner/theater last month, I’ve got a cheaper option at another winery for a Saturday afternoon travel destination. It's spring, it's daytime and it'll be outdoors. It’s north of the Boone County line and 10 miles west of US Highway 63 in Higbee. Remember that wine we tasted at the December meeting? Well, here’s the chance to visit the place where it comes from:
"Cooper's Oak Winery– You’re invited to our one year anniversary and barrel tasting of our new Cabernet. Please join us on the patio for cake, 10AM to 5PM, April 5th. Barrel tasting is $5.00 - includes glass to keep and a $5.00 credit on any wine purchase."
See www.coopersoakwinery.com Ask to tour the premises.
Thanks to Judy Weldon for making all of us aware of this offer.
Club MeetING, monday, APRIL 7:
How about a good showing for this last dinner meeting of the season at the Copper Kettle in Ashland? We’ll discuss getting ready for the December 08’ Aspen/Snowmass trip and the upcoming Flatlands 09’ trip to Copper Mtn. Got rooming for 40 (to start) at Aspen Square and we’re set to go w/ 8 rooms reserved at Copper Mountain. There are some adjustments in the contract w/ Copper taking place thru FSA as the letter finds its way to you.
As usual, meet at 6:00, ordering dinner around 6:30.
Other items to take note of: Paul Lowry, formerly of Alpine Shop, is still doing the ski & board tunes, but his phone number has changed to 823-1080. Call and he can make arrangements to pick up and deliver.
... And, it’s been suggested that we resume the January trip to Snow Creek in the Weston area. Discussions on this at the April 7 meeting.
... And, lastly, any more thoughts on the West Va. whitewater float for 2 days in September?
