Another big ‘Thank you’ goes to Adam Nowlin at The Alpine Shop
for his presentation at the November meeting.
The Shop’s special shopping info is in and this is
it: Sunday, December 2 will be an 11AM morning to 6PM evening
time set up for our club’s buying pleasure. It’s a regular Sunday with the
extension later for our convenience, but anytime during the day will work
also.
Store manager Jeremiah will
be on hand all day to grant those 20% softgoods and 10% hardgoods discounts to
club members. See him before the
purchase is finalized.
Wine tasting! At
this month’s December 3rd
meeting at the Copper Kettle in
Ashland, you may experience wine tasting before dinner. Matt Kirby of Cooper Oak Winery will stop in for a flavor savor session from
his company’s offerings.
We can then kick off the
college football post season with good food, libation and skicomradeship. We may just know where MU football is to be
played in January. Let’s see what wild
bets may fly!!

“THE POWER OF FOUR”
ASPEN-SNOWMASS-HIGHLANDS-BUTTERMILK
December 9-14, 2007
The slopes at Aspen and
Snowmass are now open!! Enough snow has
fallen to open the runs on November 21 as scheduled. We have 25 skiers and boarders in for the December trip, with 7
couples in the studio bedroom units at one end of the north building. Only 3 guys (Steve, Don & Steve) are in
need of rental equipment. If I’ve missed
anyone on rentals, please get in touch with Cap’n Ron. We have availability for either a female or
a male to still get in on this trip, so act now if you’re
interested! This one has become fairly
popular with the club, and has been elected to be continued because of the
variety of snow activities and areas:
four days early skiing & boarding in Aspen area; four different
mountains; five nights in one of the best ski towns in Colorado. Some are going touring, some on dog sleds or
snowmobiles and others to the slopes.
Lift tickets have been purchased and are intended to be distributed at
the meeting on Monday night.
Sunday the 9th will is to
be the tail end of the World Cup Skiing for the women’s circuit taking place once again on Aspen
Mountain and can be viewed from the balcony of the 2-br units if you’re there early enough on the check in.
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS/ FSA 2008
January 29 to February 3
The second club trip is
going to Steamboat Springs for Jan. 29 to Feb. 3 with Kenton Falk running the
trip. We’ve got 15 going with room for one more, which at
this point is really limited to a single lady.
But, if any four can get together, we might be able to regain the condo
unit that was let go, but nothing is reserved for that now. If this fits you, let Kent know ASAP.
Flyers can still be picked
up at the December club meeting.
Final payment for the Trip
is due at the December meeting!
Although payment for your
lift tickets and long-sleeve T-shirt orders are not technically due until
Wednesday, December 26th, it will probably be more convenient to you
to “bring a check” for these items and get them arranged for at the December
meeting too. Again the shirts are
logoed front and back (logos should be attached to this newsletter). See the shirt at the meeting, each for the
great price of $15!

So,
…..come on out Monday to
socialize, dine, and catch up on the winter ski trips and summer trips being
made available. Travel plans can be
solidified, if needed, to Aspen at this Monday’s meeting.
