Columbia Ski Club newsletter                DECEMBER 2008

For this month, the dinner meeting will be a new place, a popular spot in southwestern Columbia, and is a sports bar/restaurant.

It’s D. Rowe’s and the Columbia address is 1005 Club Village Drive, just behind the Walgreen’s on Nifong Blvd.  (John Swartz can see it from his deck and walk to it in about 300 steps).

It starts with a social hour at 6:00 p.m. and then onto the meeting room for a dinner and short meeting.

This month, The Alpine Shop is scheduled to be there with the latest in fashion wear and boarding equipment.  Mark it on your calendar as a Monday night thing to do December 1 so we have a good turn-out!

“THE POWER OF FOUR”

ASPEN-SNOWMASS-HIGHLANDS-BUTTERMILK

December 7-12, 2008

Now the number of skiers and boarders going for the four day/ five night trip to Aspen / Snowmass in December is set at 23.  Aspen Square Condominiums is our destination in the heart of downtown Aspen.  We’ve got 6 studios and 3 two-br condos with room still for more in pairs or couples.

Rooming lists are out.  Cost is $575 with the 3-day lift ticket, with expansion to a 4-day for $48 more.  Most of the drive-out arrangements are set.

We’ve got one non-skier going on the trip, but more are welcome.  There’s some hot-tubbing, a bit of wine tasting to be done each of the evenings while out there, and a November 29th pre-trip party.

Flatlands Ski Association  2009

COPPER MOUNTAIN

January 27 to February 1

Lunch on the Mountain!  BBQ and other good stuff at Steamboat Springs, Flatlands Feb 08’ trip.

Our second club trip returns to Copper Mountain from Jan. 27 to Feb. 1 2009.  Once again, there will be NASTAR amateur racing for all experience levels and ages plus FSA parties and banquet.  Flatlands is always a good time with nearly continuous activities to keep everyone busy.

Five nights lodging, FSA lunch on the mountain and a club pre-trip party are also included with this trip.

The cost is just $498, due at our December 1 meeting.

Also due at the meeting is your choice of lift tickets, again:

              3 of 4 days - $114

              4 of 5 days - $141

              5 of 6 days - $168

Plus your order of any Copper Mountain FSA 2009 t-shirt, long or short sleeve.  The flyer for the T-shirts is attached to the email of this newsletter.

The lodging check is due to Copper Mountain Resorts mid-December so it’s critical for participants to submit balance due by December 1.

Since the lift ticket and T-shirt orders are not due to FSA until the end of December, you would not have to make up your mind necessarily by December’s meeting.  But you might as well if you can because you will have to mail the order to Kenton Falk in the next two weeks anyway.

That address again:
