COLUMBIA
SKI CLUB'S OCTOBER '07 NEWSLETTER
This
month, how about trying hypnosis for becoming a better boarder and/or
skier?? At the Oct 1st meeting, Nancy
Beck has made contact with her friend, Linda Gentry for a presentation to
provide information regarding your own personal power and how tapping into that
power with hypnosis can benefit your life.
Linda
will also provide demonstrations of the power and fun we can have with our own
subconscious mind with volunteers from the group. Many sports professionals have used hypnosis (positive
visualization/ guided imagery) to enhance their athletic skill.
Let
Linda demonstrate the possibilities you have waiting inside of you. So come to
the meeting prepared to have fun. This
will be a meeting we will enjoy and talk about for years to come.
Her web
site is:

DECEMBER
07': ASPEN TRIP
We’re
now at 20 skiers and boarders for Aspen, with 7 couples in those studio bedroom
units. So if you want to go, simply
make the initial deposit and you’ll be on the list. It’s still booked for 48 folks, but on or about Tuesday September
25, there will be a release of three of those 2 bedroom units and they won’t be
able to be added back onto the bookings.
Four days early skiing in Aspen; four different mountains; five nights in
one of the best ski towns in Colorado, and all this for a $565 price.
This
one is popular with the club.
Currently, there are seven studio units reserved for a bit more room and
privacy at the same rate as those 2 bedroom units.
An
early pre-trip party for those going on this trip is set for Saturday Oct 27 at
Jim & Mary Henley’s place on the road to Hartsburg.
Plan on
going to ski and board the Power Of Four Mountains and get your deposits to
Capn Ron immediately.
This
second week of December will be at the tail end of the World Cup Skiing for the
women’s circuit taking place once again in Aspen.
CLUB
TRIPS SO FAR:
Two
trips are booked to Colorado, with Aspen/Snowmass coming in just 2 and a half
months, and the annual 2008 Flatlands Ski Association trip just 2 months
later. The second one returns to
Steamboat Springs for Jan. 29 to Feb. 3 with Kenton Falk running the trip. "Flatlands" is a tradition now
running with the other midwestern clubs for more than forty years. You can participate in racing at any level,
win medals, and join in with FSA's activities including Lunch on the Mountain
and the Awards Banquet. Always a fun
time.
Start
saving now for this one.
Get the
flyers for both at the club meeting at the Copper Kettle in Ashland on October
1st.
Food
and drink will be available as the Hypnosis presentation takes place.
By the
way...keep those deposits coming on both trips!
Some
changes have taken place in the management of the club, with Paul Rost working
to get the website back to current and Kenton Falk taking on the secretarial
duties. Your new secretary notes that
the appearance of this newsletter is not too flashy but hopes to provide
improvements in future newsletters. At least (so he says) he feels lucky just
to get the information out!
However
- you’ve not elected to replace Captain Ron (guess that’s a sign of the club is
running ok?).
